Who am I?

Hi, I’m Charlie Pallett – The Rutland Blogger!

Join me for your go-to guide to the heart of England’s smallest county. I’m a 30-year-old blogger, content creator and passionate advocate for all things local. Born and bred in Rutland for over three generations, my love for this beautiful county runs deep and I’m dedicated to sharing its charm with the world.

In 2017, when Rutland had little online presence, I felt inspired to start The Rutland Blogger. I wanted to showcase how wonderful and often overlooked this part of the UK is. What began as a simple mission to share Rutland’s hidden gems quickly grew into a vibrant online community. My social media exploded with excitement from residents eager to share their love for the area, former residents longing to reconnect with their roots and people from far and wide discovering our county for the very first time.

As a mother, fiancé and proud Pug Mum, my world is full of family, fun and creativity. Alongside my blogging journey, I’m the owner of Rutland Creative, a local creative design and marketing agency and the co-founder of Rutland Women in Business, a networking community empowering local women to connect and thrive.

My passion for community extends beyond my blog. At 23, I served as a Town Councillor for Uppingham and I’ve also worked as a youth worker at the Youth Space youth club in Uppingham, proudly representing the younger generation.

I’m also the event organiser behind The Rutland Big Christmas Market and The Rutland Big Sale, two beloved local events that celebrate small businesses, creativity and community spirit.

Through my blog and social media, I share my life in Rutland and all that I love about it, putting our incredible county on the map and celebrating it in the true essence of its motto: “Multum in Parvo”—much in little. From picturesque villages and scenic walks to vibrant markets and thriving independent businesses, I shine a light on the places, people and experiences that make Rutland truly unique.

You’ll find more than just recommendations here—you’ll discover unique independent businesses, exciting new places to explore and of course, a sprinkle of Rutland’s timeless charm. Whether you’re planning a visit, seeking inspiration, or simply craving a glimpse of local life, my goal is to help you experience Rutland through my eyes.

Let’s put Rutland back on the map!
