Well, after an unforgettable experience with former England cricketer Matthew Hoggard, I’m now confident enough to grill up mouthwatering dishes that'll have my friends and family coming back for more this summer!
I had the pleasure of joining Hoggy at Hoggy's Grill at Rutland Nursery near Manton in Rutland, where he wowed me with a vegan BBQ creation that completely changed the game. Who says BBQing is just for carnivores? Whether you're diving into Veganuary, trying out some fresh recipes for the new year or you've been living the vegan life for years, this dish proves that BBQs are just as incredible for plant-based food lovers too.
Hoggy’s stunning vegan BBQ creation featured roasted cauliflower steak that was perfectly charred on the outside and tender on the inside. Paired with a velvety butterbean puree, roast pepper and chilli garnish, toasted vegan feta and crunchy cashew nuts. I can tell you, this was no ordinary BBQ. It was a flavour explosion, and I couldn’t get enough!
The experience opened my eyes to the possibilities of plant-based BBQing, and I’m already excited for the summer to show off my new BBQ skills at our first BBQ in our new garden.
