From Rutland to: Twycross Zoo | Visit for FREE with Unlimited Entry with Annual Tickets

Set in the heart of England on the Leicestershire/Warwickshire border, Twycross Zoo is an internationally recognised conservation charity and an award-winning visitor attraction that offers a day out with a difference for all the family to enjoy.

Spread across 100 acres, the zoo is home to hundreds of amazing animals, from monkeys to Sumatran tigers, black rhinos and towering giraffes in the beautiful Giraffe Savannah. It’s the only UK zoo that houses all four great apes including chimpanzees, orangutang gorillas and bonobos.

One of the best things about Twycross Zoo is that a single ticket allows you to visit unlimited times for 12 months. With annual tickets starting from just £19.75 per person, it’s an incredible value, giving you the chance to return again and again throughout the year. Upgrade to an Annual Pass+ from just £31.45 and enjoy free parking on up to five visits, plus discounts on food, gift shops, soft play and exclusive conservation events. Every ticket also includes access to The Gruffalo Discovery Land, Wet 'n' Wild, the zoo’s incredible animal exhibits and creative fun with the LEGO Animal Bricktacular.

During our visit, the weather was perfect and the animals were out enjoying the sunshine. The gorillas, chimpanzees and giraffes were all a joy to watch, but the highlight had to be the stunning tiger, who stretched out lazily in the afternoon warmth. I still can’t believe how close we got! Our tickets were a gift last year and it’s been amazing to come back for free and experience the zoo all over again.

Chimpanzee Eden and Gibbon Forest are just some of the incredible spaces to explore. Alongside the primates, you’ll find a vibrant array of birds, mammals and monkeys, as well as the interactive Lorikeet Landing, where you can get up close to the brilliantly coloured birds as they flutter around you.

Twycross Zoo is fun for all the family, with outdoor play areas, the Wet ‘n’ Wild splash pad for summer fun and indoor soft play too.

The Gruffalo Discovery Land is a magical, interactive journey through the deep, dark wood, bringing the beloved characters from Julia Donaldson’s story to life. Alongside the much-loved Mouse, Fox, Owl and Snake, you’ll also meet real-life owls, snakes, birds and butterflies.

Nature lovers will enjoy the zoo’s dedicated Nature Reserve, a wetlands providing a haven for birds, bats, insects and small mammals, with trails perfect to add to your zoo experience before or after you enter, with a stroll of wildlife spotting.

The zoo’s conservation work is at the heart of everything it does and as a charity, every visit helps support its mission to protect and preserve endangered species.

If you’re looking for a family-friendly day out that’s both exciting and educational, Twycross Zoo is the perfect place to visit.
